Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations of the "PokerStars Caribbean Adventure" (PCA) which consists of a variety of tournaments ("Tournaments") organized by the operator of the Internet sites found at www.pokerstars.com, www.pokerstars.net, www.pokerstars.it (PokerStars). These rules and regulations are divided into two sections:

Section A

In the following list, items in Section A relate to the television production and PokerStars requirements, and apply to each event on the PCA'. Section B covers the 'PCA' Tournament Rules and Regulations.

Section A

Branded Logos

  1. No player will be permitted to wear at a televised table of an event of the PCA any logo or branding for any gambling operator which is not permitted to legally advertise in the UK. For information on non-white listed operators please go to http://www.dcms.gov.uk/.
  2. Players will be allowed to wear company logos/branding on their shirts provided that the following restrictions are accepted and implemented:
    • One breast pocket logo no larger than 3cm x 4cm
    • One upper shirt sleeve logo no larger than 3cm x 4cm.
    • Subject to term 1 above.
  3. No other branding on any part of the clothing or body.
  4. No player will be permitted to wear a .com gaming logo during an event of the PCA
  5. Baseball caps and card protectors with logos will be allowed but no logos must be visible on them on the TV table.
  6. Players can be sponsored by a company only before the tournament start. Any un-sponsored player, not wearing branded clothing or logos at the beginning of a 'PCA' tournament, can only be sponsored by PokerStars Subject to term 1 above.
  7. No more than 10% of the overall entry field at any event on the 'PCA' can wear the branding/logos of any single company with the exception of the event operator, PokerStars. If more than 10% of the players from any single company are wearing the branding/logos of any single company, then the players themselves or a company representative must decide which players wear the branded clothing. If no decision is made, then PCA representatives will high card the players to make a decision. Subject to term 1 above.
  8. No more than 2 players on the final table can wear the logos of any single company. If more than 2 players from any single company reach the final table then the players themselves or a company representative must decide which 2 players wear the branded clothing. If no decision is made, then a PCA representative will high card the players to make a decision. Any player starting the final table with no logos must remain wearing no logos throughout the final. Subject to term 1 above.
  9. PokerStars and the Tournament Director will have absolute discretion to approve the clothing and apparel worn by the players during the event. They will also have the right to remove any logo, image or words on the players' clothing and apparel, which in the opinion of PokerStars or the Tournament Director contravenes the requirements of the commissioning broadcaster, PCA or any regulatory body.

Winners Grand Final Seat

  1. The player that wins the PCA Main Event will be offered by PokerStars a seat and accommodation in the Grand Final event of either the European Poker Tour, Latin American Poker Tour or Asian Pacific Poker Tour (the "Final") subject to such Player consenting to wear the PokerStars branded clothing provided by PokerStars exclusively throughout the entirety of the Final.
  2. For the avoidance of doubt the player remains entirely responsible for the costs of travel to, from and at the Final.
  3. In the event that the winner is not able to participate in the Final or refuses to wear PokerStars branded clothing exclusively at the Final such player will forfeit his/her seat in the Final and shall have no claims against PokerStars in such regard and PokerStars shall have no obligation to compensate the player in any way.
  4. The seat in the Final granted to the winning player is neither transferable nor exchangeable and cannot be exchanged for money or money's worth.

Filming and Image

  1. Some preliminary rounds, and the final table, will be filmed for transmission by a production company and broadcast as a delayed television series and/or as a live webcast.
  2. Players competing in any event on the PCA are required to permit their image to be shown on television internationally, without restriction and in all forms of media. Entry into each tournament is taken as that player giving their consent to participate in the TV coverage.
  3. Furthermore, all consents under the UK Performers Rights Protection Acts 1958 to 1972, or under similar legislation in other countries of the world in connection with the player's performance in any event forming part of the PCA, and the exploitation of the player's performance in any event on the PCA by any means and in all media including (but not by way of limitation) all forms of theatrical exhibition, television broadcast, internet, and video gram exploitation are hereby granted and assigned by the player to PokerStars.
  4. Any player playing in any event on the PCA acknowledges to PokerStars that the entire copyright throughout the world in any film and /or video or other recordings of themselves taken or made during any event on the 'PCA' shall belong to PokerStars.
  5. The player warrants to PokerStars that they are able to assign all such rights and give such acknowledgements.
  6. Any player in any event on the 'PCA' agrees to carry out any reasonable request by PokerStars during the event to assist in publicizing, televising or promoting the event.
  7. Any player playing in any event on the 'PCA' agrees to disclose their hole cards to the hidden camera at the final table and any refusal to do so could lead to disqualification from the event with no prize money being awarded and no refunds given.
  8. Players must make themselves available to attend press conferences and/or television interviews at any reasonable time during any event on the 'PCA' if requested by PokerStars or the Tournament Director.
  9. PokerStars reserves the right to add or amend any tournament rules, as they deem appropriate. This will be done for the benefit of the game and all contestants will be informed of such changes as and when they occur.

Tournament Entry and Registration

  1. You hereby acknowledge and agree that you are not entitled to be sponsored (either directly or indirectly) into any PCA tournament by a third party that is an Unauthorised European Poker Tour (EPT) Satellite Operator nor are you entitled to wear the branded logos of any Unauthorised Satellite Operator. If PokerStars. determines, in its sole discretion, that you have been sponsored into a PCA tournament by an Unauthorised Satellite Operator and/or you are wearing a branded logo or logos of an Unauthorised Satellite Operator it is entitled to require (including by instructing the Venue and/or the Tournament Director at the PCA to give effect to its determination) that you immediately remove the branded logos and/or to disqualify you from the festival. You waive any claims you may otherwise have against PokerStars. in this regard.
  2. An "Unauthorised Satellite Operator" shall mean a third party (including, but not limited to online poker operators and offline casinos and poker rooms) which conducts tournaments which offer as a prize a free buy-in to the or registers players to an official EPT event without obtaining the requisite licence in the form provided by EPT. or, if such third party is a holder of such licence, is not in full compliance with the terms of such license.For more information go to : http://www.europeanpokertour.com/about/licence/
  3. A condition of entry into any tournament on the 'PCA' will be the completion and signing of a release form detailing all the above and distributed at the   by the event organisers. Failure to do so may, at the option of ‘PokerStars’ acting in its sole and absolute discretion, subject to the player to immediate disqualification at any point in the tournament. If the player is disqualified he or she shall forfeit all entry fees and not be entitled to any tournament prizes monies or any other prize consideration that he or she may have qualified for at the point of disqualification.
